Der Schatz im Silbersee in the change of time

On the occasion of my moms birthday we made a family excursion to the Karl May Festspiele in Bad Segeberg. When I was a child we visited this festival every year and, as far as I know, the first performance I visited in 1989 was “Der Schatz im Silbersee”. Winnetou was performed by Pierre Brice, the “original” actor who also played the fictive Indian chief “Winnetou” in several movies, which are very famous in Germany. This year they again staged “Der Schatz im Silbersee”.

I collected most of the program booklets from 1986 until today.

It’s interesting how everything changed during these years. I have picked some photos out of the programme booklet – on the left is 1989 and on the right 2016:

Maik Sommer played in 1989 and also in 2016 – but in different roles.

The actors are all different than 1989, but the role is the same – with the exception of the last photo. This guy actually is one of only a handful actors who is still playing in Bad Segeberg since 1989, or even earlier.

We all enjoyed the performance this year and were lucky with the weather: The first performance of “Der Schatz im Silbersee” on June 24th has been cancelled due to heavy rain and the forecast for the day when we visited wasn’t really good.

Of course I’d like to show you some photos from this year – and some from 2013 when I had my camera with me. Let’s start with 2016:
