Easy Walking: Pietzmoor

Today I walked through the “Pietzmoor“, a wetland area near where I live. Unlike some other trails, the round trip in the “Pietzmoor” really is a decent walk. It is around five kilometres long and passes swamps, open spaces and woods. The round trip does not have any gradients and with some photo stops you can make it in less than two hours.

Just one advice: Even when it is a short trail and is not stressfull at all, it leads over some open areas without any shade. This is not as bad as on some trails in the USA, but bring some water along, at least when it’s hot 🙂 .

I’ve walked this trail a few times now, and I definitely will again. When the sun is shining (which is unlikely at the moment) it’s not uncommon to see a crossed viper, one of Germany’s only snakes. Still waiting to take a photo of them 🙂 .

Have  a good start into the new week!
