Once upon a time: Eastern Canada

Time is running so fast! It’s ten years ago now that we visited Eastern Canada.

Does this sound familiar to you? You are browsing through your old photos and it’s like “why did I photograph this??”. This may be because you usually photograph anything which does not run away fast enough ๐Ÿ™‚ . Another thing is that you improve your skills during the time and you would not photograph this today. And of course cameras and lenses got much better and cheaper in the last years.

Anyway, I went through my photo collection last week and I thought it might be a good idea to show you some of my “pre-bybasti-time” photos. I actually took photos before starting my blog, even if not as many as today.

I’ll start with our favourite country: Canada.

Our rough route was this:

We started and ended our tour in Toronto, the most eastern point we visited was the small village of Tadoussac.
When comparing this to western Canada, this region is more urban. At least where we have been. When travelling north you will be alone very fast of course.

And the biggest difference: The language. With our little knowledge in french language we sometimes really struggled doing the easiest things like filling up the gastank.

The same in Tadoussac when we did whale watching:
Captain: “Anyone who doesn’t speak french here?”
We: “We don’t….”
Captain: “Sorry, we’ll speak French then on this tour.”

It got so far that even the security advise was in french language and we didn’t understand a word on the tour.

Apart from that we had a good time in Eastern Canada. We visited Quebec City, Toronto and Montreal, enjoyed the sundown at Lake Ontario and even glimpsed into the Indian Summer.

The photos are not in any specific order.

Enjoy the rest of the Sunday and have a good start into the new week!
