Hamburg, Berlin, Köln, München Many people know all the places in these cities. But why not do some Sightseeing in the “Ruhrgebiet”? Yes, I am biased due to the fact that I am living here but this part of Germany is really underestimated! Do you know “Zeche Zollverein”? I bet, at least when you are living in Europe, you have seen this big wining tower somewhere in the media but you just don’t know it 🙂 . And there are so many other nice spots here.

Family of mine visited us and stayed three days. What is better than do some sightseeing in the Ruhrgebiet, then? Beside of drinking coffee and eating cake, of course 🙂 .

We picked some of the places we know from a large list and this is what we actually did: We started with “Tiger and Turtle” an Art installation in Duisburg

After that, we directly headed to the “Lapadu” :

After an abundant breakfast we visited the “Zeche Zollverein” on the next day:

Also situated in the city of Essen we decided to walk through the large property of the Krupp’s Family, one of the richest Family clans in the last century. They own this very, very large mansion with more than 200 rooms. Our plan was to only walk through the large garden. But as we found out that the entry to the property is not for free (anymore?!) we “had to” go into the mansion as well since, this was included in the price. Really impressive, from the outside as well as from the inside!

Our final destination was “Margarethenhöhe“. This city in the city was founded by Margarethe Krupp (see “The Krupps Familiy above) in the early 20th century. It still feels like this when you walk through the narrow streets:
