Time for memories: San Francisco

San Francisco is probably one of the most popular cities in the USA for tourists. I recently read about the reasons for that in the latest issue of “Geo” magazine. Since I’ve been there a few years ago, I have my own reasons why the city is special to me.

A cable car ride – one thing among others you can do in San Francisco.

What makes San Francisco so different to other cities?

First of all: The location. The city is located in California. Surrounded by (National) Parks and cities like L.A. it’s perfect, even for a short stay.

San Francisco is hip. You can easily find many information for your “SanFran Bucket list” in the internet. That makes travelling easy.

There are many (touristy) things to do. You can just stroll along the coastline, visit one of the museums (Alcatraz is interesting, but you need to go the island as early or as late as possible, otherwise it’s too crowded) or have some (sea) food in one of the numerous restaurants. And don’t forget to go to the Golden Gate bridge in the end! ๐Ÿ™‚ .

And the best: When you are done with San Francisco, you can rent a car and depending where you want to go you can either enjoy Highway 1 and relax in one of the small villages north, or head to the next big city: L.A.

Of course I’d also like to show you some of my personal impressions from the City of Angels ๐Ÿ™‚

I can feel my travel fever getting higher.
Have a good start into the new week!

  1. Great pics as always. And, yes: San Francisco is – next to New York – the only big city
I would like to live in the US. There is this special West Coast feeling which you won’t
    get anywhere else.
