A friend told me that he has seen Kingfisher near the University in the city of Bochum. After I saw one there as well when we were in the region for a short hike, it was clear for me that I needed to come back with my camera 🙂 .

And this is what I did on a sunny morning in March. Normally these birds are very skittish and without camouflage it’s almost impossible to come close enough for a photo (even with a tele lens). But in this case I just needed to wait and stay calm. After a while a had a couple of good photos and returned home happy 🙂 .
